SES provides cleanup capabilities for a broad range of environmental incidents, including discharge of petroleum products and/or regulated materials resulting from vehicular accidents, abandonment, natural disaster and general operator errors.

SES response personnel have over one hundred year's experience combined and have had required 40 hour OSHA Site Worker, Hazwoper, Confined Space, Incident Command, 8-Hour Refreshers, 24-Hour Mine Safety, and  Training, Medical Monitoring.

The key to any successful project is a well trained work force with good work skills. SES maintains continual safety training programs for employees to comply with required OSHA requirements for Health & Safety. SES employees are classified as being in safety sensitive positions. Various types of spill responses and site remediation can involve a higher risk of personnel safety due to the type of physical or mental hazard associated with the job.

SES philosophy is Teamwork and to adhere to the highest standard of quality and safety. SES employees and managers have received the following OSHA training certifications including yearly 8-hour refresher courses in several types of hazardous materials and construction programs.

Site-specific health & safety plans

Our work will begin with an extensive safety and job hazard analysis. From this we will develop a site-specific health and safety plan (HASP) that covers the hazards and personnel safety associated with the project to ensure that the project runs smoothly, safely and quickly. Tailgate safety meetings are also conducted on a daily basis. Your SES project manager will create a HASP that includes:

  • Site map
  • List of site contaminants
  • Material safety data sheets (MSDS) for site-specific chemicals
  • Site-specific work hazards
  • Information about nearest medical emergency locations/phone number

Medical monitoring & surveillance

Personal safety is our top priority. To ensure employee well-being, North Shore staff receives ongoing medical surveillance and testing. Annual tests include:

  • Hazwoper/Hazmat medical physicals and surveillance (as required per 29 CFR Part 1910.120)
  • Respirator Use/Medical Determination
  • Medical History and Physical Examination
  • Blood Screen
  • Random drug and alcohol testing
